How to Change Oil on 2019 - 2022 Chevrolet Traverse
Required Materials:
- OEM Oil filter
- 6 quarts of 5W-30 motor oil
- Jack and jack stands
- 15-millimeter socket
- Oil drain pan
Performing the oil change:
- Park the Chevrolet Traverse on leveled ground. You can start the car for about 1 minute for the engine oil to warm up and then drain quicker.
- Open the hood and remove the oil cap. It is located in the center of the engine.
- Grab a jack floor and lift the front end of the vehicle and place it on jack stands. If you are not sure about the lifting points of your vehicle, look it up in the owner’s manual.
- Place a drain pan under the vehicle and locate the oil drain bolt.
- Remove the oil drain bolt and make sure the old oil is going into the pan.
- After 15-20 minutes, reinstall the oil plug.
- Remove the old oil filter and install a new OEM oil filter.
- Lower your Chevrolet Traverse and remove the jack stands.
- Pour 6 quartz of 5W-30 motor oil into the engine and reinstall the oil cap once done.
- Start the engine and turn it off after 1 minute.
- Measure the level of the oil after 10 – 15 minutes. Pour more if needed.
