How to Change Oil on 2014 - 2019 Chevrolet Cruze
Required Materials:
- OEM Oil filter
- 4 – 5 quarts of 5W-30 motor oil
- Jack and jack stands
- 15-millimeter socket
- Oil drain pan
Performing the oil change:
- Park the Chevrolet Cruze on leveled ground. Make sure the engine is cold so you can safely work on it without burning your hands.
- Open the hood and locate the oil cap.
- Remove it and place it aside.
- Find the lifting points and raise the front of your vehicle.
- Place your car on jack stands for safety reasons.
- Get under the vehicle and have a drain pan next to you.
- Locate the oil drain bolt. It is located underneath the front end of the vehicle, in the middle of the engine.
- Using a 15-millimeter socket, remove the drain bolt and place the drain pan to catch the old oil.
- Wait for about 10 minutes for the old oil to drain and then reinstall the bolt.
- Remove the old oil filter and install a new OEM oil filter.
- Lower your Chevrolet Cruze and remove the jack stands.
- Pour 4 – 5 quartz of 5W-30 motor oil into the engine and reinstall the oil cap once done.
- Start the engine and turn it off after 1 minute. This will get the oil circulating in the engine.
- Measure the level of the oil after 10 – 15 minutes. Pour more if needed.
