How to Change Oil on Ford F-150
Needed Materials:
- Proper engine oil (sun warmed up for belter flowing characteristics)
- Drain oil pan
- Jack
- 1/2 ratchet
- 15 millimeter socket
Get Started:
- Make sure that the engine is cold.
- Open the hood and locate the oil cap.
- Locate the oil dipstick in the engine bay.
- Jack the front of the vehicle to gain better access. Make sure that your rear tires are blocked and the parking brake is on.
- Get under the vehicle and locate the drain bolt. It is located next to the transmission.
- Slide the drain pan under the vehicle.
- Unscrew the oil bolt and leave it to drain in the drain pan.
- After the oil is completely drained, install the drain bolt. Make sure that no oil is leaking.
- Remove the oil cap in the engine bay and pour the new engine oil into the engine.
- After you are done pouring the new engine oil, place the oil cap back on.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Check the engine oil levels by removing the oil dipstick.
