How to Change Oil on Ford Taurus
Needed Materials:
- Engine oil with SAE 5W-20 viscosity
- Drain pan
- Jack
- Jack stands
- 15-millimeter socket
Get Started:
- Park your Ford Taurus on a leveled ground and leave the engine to cool down.
- Jack the front end of the vehicle and place it on jack stands. This will allow you to gain access to the drain bolt.
- Locate the engine drain bolt. It is in the front middle of the vehicle.
- Using the 15-millimeter socket, remove the drain bolt and place the drain pan to collect the old engine oil.
- Once completely drained, reinstall the drain bolt.
- Open the hood and locate the oil cap located in the engine bay.
- Add the required amount of engine oil, depending on your engine model.
- Close the oil cap and leave the Ford Taurus for 15 minutes.
- Measure the engine oil level using the dipstick and add more oil if needed.
