How to Change Oil on Ford Ranger
Materials Needed:
- Engine oil with SAE 5W-30 viscosity
- Drain pan
- 13-millimeter socket
- Jack
- Jack stands
Get Started:
- Park your Ford Ranger on a leveled ground and engage the parking brakes.
- Wait for 10-15 minutes until your vehicle is cooled down.
- Jack the front end of the vehicle to gain access to the drain bolt.
- Place your Ford Ranger on jack stands for safety.
- Get underneath the vehicle and locate the oil drain bolt. It is located in the front middle side of the vehicle.
- Remove the drain bolt and place the drain pan. Allow the old oil to drain completely.
- Reinstall the drain plug.
- Open the hood and locate the filer cap. (it has an oil marking on it).
- Add the required amount of engine oil (depends on the engine type).
- Reinstall the oil cap.
- Wait for 10-15 minutes and then measure the level of the engine oil with the dipstick.
