How to Change Oil on 2015 - 2021 Ford Mustang
Required Materials:
- Oil filter
- 6 – 10 quarts of 5W-30 motor oil
- Jack and jack stands
- 15 millimeter socket
- Oil drain pan
Performing the oil change:
- Park the Ford Mustang on a leveled ground.
- Open the hood and remove the oil cap to allow air in the system.
- Lift the front end of your vehicle. You can find the lifting points in the owner’s manual
- Locate the oil drain bolt (underneath the front end of the vehicle) and remove it using a 15 millimeter socket.
- Have the drain pan in place and place it under the drain bolt.
- Once there is no more oil draining, reinstall the drain bolt.
- Locate and remove the old filter. It should be close to the drain bolt.
- Reinstall the new oil filter. Make sure to lubricate the new oil filter before installing it.
- Remove the jack stands and lower the Ford Mustang.
- Pour 6 – 10 quartz (depending on oil capacity) of 5W-30 motor oil into the engine and reinstall the oil cap once done.
- Let the oil settle and check the oil level. Add more if needed.
